The 2014 Ram 1500 pickup truck is like no other. Winning the coveted “Truck of Texas” title for the second year in a row, the Ram mixes things up this year by offering the first full-size diesel half-ton truck on the market.

Texas is the best market for trucks and the Ram beat out the Ford F-150, the Chevy Silverado and the Toyota Tundra, according to USA Today.

The V6 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel gets 240 horsepower, but adds $2,850 to the price tag, according to Edmunds. This truck can tow up to 9,200 pounds, the V8 can tow 10, 450 pounds. The trucks are estimated to get about 25 miles per gallon on the highway.

Edmunds picked the 2014 Ram as its top choice in the full-size truck category. Edmunds said the truck rides well, is easy to handle and quiet. The optional eight-speed transmission improves fuel efficiency as well.

Edmunds reviewed the truck and said that the high-tech interface was easy to use. For those looking to make use of the cargo bed, the Ram 1500 has two options––a six foot and an eight-foot bed.

Safety features include antilock brakes, hill start assist, trailer sway control and of course airbags. A rear-view camera and parking assists make it even easier to avoid accidents.

If you’re in the market for a new truck, consider the Ram 1500. For those looking for a more fuel-efficient truck, the Ram 1500 is the best option. Its competitors do not have a similar offer. It has many optional features that will allow consumers to build a vehicle that is the best for them.
